A concept redesign for a 45 year old Colorado institution: family run Creole breakfast, six Front Range locations, and a beloved brand buried in a dated site. This is unsolicited concept work with a live working build.
Lucile’s has everything a designer dreams of: a 45 year story, a yellow Victorian house in Boulder, and a menu people drive across the state for. The website had none of it. A dated WordPress theme dumped the full menu, six phone numbers, and a broken shortcode onto the homepage, and buried the brand’s real charm under tiny thumbnails.
The goal: show what Lucile’s could look like if the site felt as warm as the restaurant.
This is an identity extension, not a replacement. The palette comes from the brand’s own assets and the food itself: butter, cream, poppy, and bayou green. Fraunces carries the display type with Southern warmth, and Karla keeps the details clean. The redesign opens with the brand’s own words and works down through signature dishes, an interactive five category menu, locations, and the family story from 1980.
The design lives in a component based Figma file: dish cards, menu items, and location cards built with auto layout, so the system can grow to every page of the site. The live build is a single HTML file with a full mobile pass, deployed to static hosting.
A live, working redesign that any visitor can click through, not a static mockup. It loads fast, works on any phone, and can run on free static hosting, which would replace the restaurant’s current paid WordPress setup.
